Owner & Principle Designer
With a background in marketing, PR and events, Jody began her entrepreneurial debut in 2009 by offering marketing-focused event services and small business marketing consulting. Her sister business, An Affair To Remember, offered wedding planning and design services. After the first full wedding season in 2010, it was clear the direction the business was taking. Brides were eager for someone to help them bring the vision they had in their minds to life. In the days before Pinterest, it was even more of a challenge – think pages of magazine clippings, dress and paint swatches, and any other inspiration they could find to help define their wedding style. It was (and is still often) overwhelming for brides to make sense of it all. With a keen eye for color, flower selection, texture and, most importantly, “the big picture”, Jody takes those inspirational elements and creates a comprehensive design that truly brings to life the dream wedding each bride envisions.
Her favorite part of the job is two-fold, “Our consultation process is pretty interactive. My favorite part is toward the end where we get to ‘play’. We layer linens, bring in various containers, light candles, mock up florals and more. The look of excitement on my clients’ faces when they start to see their vision take shape is hands down the best part. This is only magnified when they leave our studio saying how stress-free they feel and how we just ‘get their vision’. When we exceed their expectations on one of the most important days of their life, it makes all the hard work worth it. What we do is truly a labor of love in the best kind of way.”
If you know Jody on a personal level, you know that she spends most of her time working. When she gets the opportunity to travel or pop a bottle of good wine, she jumps on it. Spending a day with her husband and their two pups, Max & Jules, is the best way to spend a day off.
LEAD FLORIST & Rental MANAGER
As a Floral & Event Designer, Gabrielle first got her start working at a plant shop in high school. In the 18 years since then, her career lead her to Portland, OR, where she worked as Floral Buyer for a national organic grocer, then as a designer at independent floral boutiques, and eventually, to the role of Senior Designer at one of Portland’s premier floral & event design studios.
Gabrielle has enthusiastically joined the AATR team as Lead Florist & Rental Manager - bringing her West Coast style and passion for combining interesting colors and textures with her.
When she's not designing gorgeous arrangements, organizing the design team, and managing the rental program, you can find her killing it at local trivia nights every week with her partner, Martin, and snuggling up with their playful and rambunctious kitties. Gabrielle and Martin recently got engaged during the solar eclipse and are currently planning their own nuptials.
Floral Designer & Linen Artist
Mary has been with AATR since its inception in 2009. Even though Mary hasn’t been a lifelong floral designer, she comes from a long lineage of florists in Pennsylvania where her family has owned their flower shop for over 100 years. Originally assisting with event design and styling, when AATR expanded into more comprehensive floral design, Mary picked up arranging with ease and mastered challenging techniques. When Mary isn’t creating beautiful arbor arrangements or intricate centerpiece designs, you can find her laboring (with love!) over our extensive linen and rental collection to make sure they are in pristine condition for each and every wedding or event.
Mary is mother to three girls, three sons-in-law, and boasts six (going on 7) beautiful grandchildren. Mary loves a good glass of wine, preferably with her toes in the sand when possible, and spending time with her husband and family.
rental prep specialist & design assistant
A wedding photographer by trade, Nora joined the AATR recently as the rental prep specialist. If you've ever taken a peek into the warehouses at AATR, you know of the rows and rows of votives, linens, chargers, etc. Nora makes sure everything has a place and is in its place. She confirms what goes out and what comes in and makes sure its in tip top condition for each event. It's a crucial part of our process and her attention to detail is paramount in our success.
Nora's favorite part of the job is seeing the whole puzzle come together. "It’s kind of like playing dress up as a grown-up. We get to create beautiful things for clients that are unique and tailored to them and their vision. It really is something special to be part that process."
When she's not working at AATR and shooting (and editing!) weddings, she enjoys spending time with her husband Alex, cleaning out my yard, bringing my home into the 21st century and counted cross stitch. "I love small dogs, velvet anything, and 70s/80s Arena rock music."
Set-up & Styling Assistant
If you catch our team setting up during an event or breaking down in the wee hours of the morning, it’s likely you’ve run into Brittney. A master of draping and organization, Brittney is our "go-to" the day of to make sure everything is styled “just so”. Brittney plays a vital role in each wedding and event. Because of her enthusiasm for a well-executed event and her dedication to detail and efficiency, the team knows each event will be executed on schedule and to the standard held by AATR.
When Brittney isn’t perfecting aisles and creating backdrops she enjoys challenging herself at Crossfit and snuggle time with her pup Zeppelin.
DESIGN & RENTAL ASSISTANT
With a degree of psychology and communications and post graduate training in professional ontological coaching and leadership, Lynn owned and operated Success Trek Coaching and Owl Nest Coaching, helping people recognize their personal power and facilitate successful life changes.
In 2013, Lynn stepped back from her coaching practice to explore her love of design and hospitality joining Signed Sealed Delivered Events as a designer and event facilitator. Through this connection she met the women at AATR and in 2018, she branched out and joined the team.
At AATR, Lynn finds the design and execution of each new project both challenging and exciting. She loves being a part of the connection between vision and completion that unfolds in the beautiful creations at AATR on a daily basis.
Lynn was married to her husband Stan for 37 years prior to his passing in 2017. She adores spending time hiking, biking and gathered around the table playing games with daughters Ashlee, Chelsea and Andria, sons-in-law Brent, Jason and Derek and granddaughter Brynlee.
When she isn't rocking out the most adorable corsages you've ever seen and prepping rentals for each wedding, Lynn is busy tackling physical challenges. She has twenty marathons under her belt and has hiked in the Rocky Mountains, Glacier Park, Mt. Haleakala and Zion National park, climbed Yosemite's Half Dome and hiked rim to rim in the Grand Canyon to name a few. Currently, she is training for Ragbrai, the well known bike ride across Iowa. Lynn is also a poet and painter delivering her Heart of Ellie Art Songs to the world at several art shows.
