Without a doubt, the wedding and event industry is fast-paced and naturally stressful, but the passion we have for our work and the joy we get from being a part of such a special day for so many makes this “job” better than most. It’s with gratitude and privilege we get to do what we do.
Owner & Principle Designer
With a background in marketing, PR and events, Jody began her entrepreneurial debut in 2009 by offering marketing-focused event services and small business marketing consulting. Her sister business, An Affair To Remember, offered wedding planning and design services. After the first full wedding season in 2010, it was clear the direction the business was taking. Brides were eager for someone to help them bring the vision they had in their minds to life. In the days before Pinterest, it was even more of a challenge – think pages of magazine clippings, dress and paint swatches, and any other inspiration they could find to help define their wedding style. It was (and is still often) overwhelming for brides to make sense of it all. With a keen eye for color, flower selection, texture and, most importantly, “the big picture”, Jody takes those inspirational elements and creates a comprehensive design that truly brings to life the dream wedding each bride envisions.
Her favorite part of the job is two-fold, “Our consultation process is pretty interactive. My favorite part is toward the end where we get to ‘play’. We layer linens, bring in various containers, light candles, mock up florals and more. The look of excitement on my clients’ faces when they start to see their vision take shape is hands down the best part. This is only magnified when they leave our studio saying how stress-free they feel and how we just ‘get their vision’. When we exceed their expectations on one of the most important days of their life, it makes all the hard work worth it. What we do is truly a labor of love in the best kind of way.”
If you know Jody on a personal level, you know that she spends most of her time working. When she gets the opportunity to travel or pop a bottle of good wine, she jumps on it. Spending a day with her husband and their two pups, Max & Jules, is the best way to spend a day off.
Design & Rental Coordinator
With a degree in Entertainment Management, her passion for entertaining and weddings is what brought Blakely to AATR. In 2015, anxious to dive into the wedding industry, she reached out to AATR inquiring about opportunities and it just so happened Jody was looking for some additional help a few hours a week. Those few hours quickly turned into several days and after working part time for a couple months, it was clear Jody couldn’t live without her. She began working full time at AATR as the resident rental coordinator and began dabbling into floral design. Blakely discovered an unknown enthusiasm for floral design and after quickly mastering the techniques of smaller arrangements, she began taking on larger assignments with ease. If you’re seeing a beautiful compote or tall statement piece, there’s a good chance Blakely is behind the design. Her favorite part of working at AATR is seeing a design come to fruition the day of. “Seeing that smile on a bride’s face when she walks into her ceremony or reception room is the best reward”.
When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her pup Luna and boyfriend Troy, taking in a good hike and catching a Packers game.
Floral Designer & Linen Artist
Mary has been with AATR since its inception in 2009. Even though Mary hasn’t been a lifelong floral designer, she comes from a long lineage of florists in Pennsylvania where her family has owned their flower shop for over 100 years. Originally assisting with event design, and styling, when AATR expanded into more comprehensive floral design, Mary picked up arranging with ease and mastering challenging techniques. When Mary isn’t creating beautiful arbor arrangements or intricate centerpiece designs, you can find her laboring (with love!) over our extensive linen and rental collection to make sure they are in pristine condition for each and every wedding or event.
Mary is mother to three girls, three sons-in-law, and boasts six (going on 7) beautiful grandchildren. Mary loves a good glass of wine, preferably with her toes in the sand when possible, and spending time with her husband and family.
Set-up & Styling Assistant
If you catch our team setting up during an event or breaking down in the wee hours of the morning, it’s likely you’ve run into Brittney. A master of draping and organization, Brittney is our "go-to" the day of to make sure everything is styled “just so”. Brittney plays a vital role in each wedding and event. Because of her enthusiasm for a well-executed event and her dedication to detail and efficiency, the team knows each event will be executed on schedule and to the standard held by AATR.
When Brittney isn’t perfecting aisles and creating backdrops she enjoys challenging herself at Crossfit and snuggle time with her pup Zeppelin.
Floral Design & Inventory Assistant
Master of the floral bracelet and creator of the cutest bouts around, Alana’s eye for detail and dimension is unmatched. The bride isn’t the only one who deserves fabulous flowers. Mothers and grandmothers deserve to be adorned with beautiful flowers and the men need a little pop to complement the lovely ladies they’ll escort down the aisle. Alana is also a vital part in preparing for the big day every week. From making sure our rentals are in tip top shape and each event’s prep lists is organized and ready to go, her sharp organizational skills are invaluable to the success of each event.
Alana’s furbaby Louie is the light of her life. When she’s not assisting with events at AATR, she loves spending time with friends and family and indulges in decorating and renovating her new home.
